The Canadian Broadcasting Center (CBC) is doing what the mainstream media does so well for AIDS apologists: repeating inaccurate headlines without reading or thinking: Premature Aging of the Brain Seen in HIV Patients That is simply not what this study reports, and I blogged about it just a few days ago here. It is pretty […more]
Peter loves all things Pharmaceutical and that is no surprise, considering he apparently lives a pretty good life taking his cut from Pharma profits. As he himself admits, he founded aidsmed.com so he could get off of his low paying disability income. The extent of his sell out is apparent to anyone looking at all the drug ads plastered above his mug on his blog.
Still, his latest post is pretty gauche, even for him. Peter all but begs Gilead, manufacturer of the top selling AIDS drug Atripla, to share some of their ever increasing profits with groups like his. “I certainly hope they’re giving back to affected communities — generously and often,” Peter writes.
Remember 2004 and 2005? The years you couldn’t walk without falling and spraining your ankles? You could no longer climb the stairs in your home without dropping to your hands and knees, and could only come back down by crawling backwards? Do you remember the times you came out of unconsciousness to see the faces […more]
Once in a while I come across a piece of writing that resonates so closely with my own experiences that I want to say “I wish I had written that”. Carl Stryg wrote just such an essay recently, published at The Truth Barrier, a website founded by journalist Celia Farber. From the first paragraph, Stryg […more]
What to do when research doesn’t provide the desired results? Conduct another study and change the parameters, of course. According to the AIDS mantra, penetrative sex without latex is the highest risk behavior for transmission of the HI virus. Yet, a recent study from the University of Florida–a state with a greater than usual interest […more]
Some folks who have read my story about quitting AIDS drugs and nearly two dozen other prescription drugs seem to think I attribute my improved health to that choice alone. It isn’t that simple. There is no doubt in my mind that taking so many prescription drugs, even under the care of physicians, was […more]
For evidence that overuse of antibiotics and other drugs is causing more health problems than they cure, one need look no further than Norway.~ Antibiotics and MRSA That country embarked on a campaign 25 years ago to eradicate MRSA (antibiotic resistant staph infection) which has proven remarkably successful. A key component of that campaign: cutting […more]
I’m on a roll this month with AIDS research reports that intrigue me, particularly because so many of them raise more questions than they answer. I’m not sure if there is a Holiday uptick in these reports, or if the cold weather just means I have more time on my hands to sit at […more]
A review of this week’s list of research into current treatments for so-called HIV infection shows how patients seeking care in their doctor’s office can end up being on a long list of pharmaceutical drugs, mostly to treat the effects of ARVs (antiretroviral drugs). There is a push to get more and more people on […more]
Keep reading to find out why I just could not resist the headline. But first, there is a little discussion about AIDS vaccine research I need to get out of the way. I did a double take when I saw this report promising “further progress” in the search for an AIDS vaccine. Don’t worry, I […more]
