No one wants to see the grave of a loved one disturbed. It’s dishonorable, distasteful, and usually illegal.
That is exactly what happened this weekend though.
There is a page on my blog called “the graveyard”, a list of dead friends that I published as a response to those who claimed that every time an AIDS dissident died it was because they chose to not take the so-called “AIDS cocktail” of drugs.
The graveyard includes this photo montage I created of eight close friends who died while faithfully taking their ARVs.
As you can see, I’ve superimposed a skull-and-crossbone image over their faces to make a statement about the lethal effects of the drugs they took.
Provocative? I hope so. Shocking? Maybe to some. Disrespectful? Never. This is a graphic illustration intended to make a point. I admit I was nervous when I first posted it and have even taken it offline for brief periods. I have living friends who also knew these friends. What would they think? So far, not a single one of them has protested to me about the imagery, even though I’m sure some of them disagree with me.
A couple of days ago J Todd DeShong, a blogger apparently supported by Baylor Health Care System of Dallas, decided to repost this image out of its original context to attack me. DeShong’s blogspot blog has a notorious reputation for posting some of the most vile and malicious commentary about publicly identified AIDS dissidents to be found on the web.
If it was disrespectful for me to create a photo montage of friends I had partied with and known intimately, what does one call the action of a person who did not even know them to repost this image as part of a slimy personal attack?
The first word that comes to mind is copyright infringement, something DeShong apparently has no regard for. Even the lamest blogger knows that when one lifts an image from another site, it must be attributed with a link back to the original source so readers can view it in its original context. Deshong has denied me that basic right, even though I’ve politely requested it.
That is the least of my concerns though.
J Todd DeShong: you can call me any name you’d like; you can continue to lie about my disability status and sources of income; you can continue to misrepresent my involvement in the creation of the Questioning AIDS website; you can claim I tried to cost you your job, even though it was you who violated your company’s policy.
But, by defiling the graves of people who have nothing to do with our disagreement, you have shown just how despicable and shameless you really are.
Anyone reading your blog, and the comments of your supporters will see you for the sad, miserable creature you are. I don’t hate you, but I do pity you.
Many of my dissident friends will probably wish I had not made this post, and perhaps it is a mistake to do so, but my friends’ memories won’t permit me to remain silent.
DeShong really is a bit player in the AIDS dissident debate. His blog barely shows up in any rankings, and my post will only help give him more attention, something he obviously craves.
On the other hand, DeShong is popular with some of the leaders of the anti-AIDS dissident movement, including “snout”, “poodlestomper”, and he is now best friends with Seth Kalichman and other AIDS cheerleaders who are single-mindedly devoted to discrediting and smearing anyone questioning AIDS dogma. They love his style and support him with frequent comments.
Those who are following the AIDS dissidence issue from the sidelines would do well to read DeShong’s blog and even more importantly, the comments from his fellow “anti-denialists”.
While a debate should stand on its own merits, it never hurts to discern the personas behind the arguments as well.
Jonathan wrote: “Many of my dissident friends will probably wish I had not made this post, and perhaps it is a mistake to do so, but my friends’ memories won’t permit me to remain silent.”
As one of your dissident friends, I have no clue why any of us would wish you hadn’t made this post. Personally, I want to tell you to keep up the good work!
I myself have lost a lot of non-dissident friends who died from taking AIDS cock(inyour)tail drugs. In fact, out of my non-dissident HIV-positive friends, the only ones that I’ve ever known to survive are those who refuse the drugs — and they refuse these drugs NOT because they don’t believe that HIV is deadly, but because they know that the drugs are pure poison.
In fact, back in the days when I was taking Epivir, Viramune, and Zerit, I had this one friend who was involved in the care of AIDS patients, and when I suggested that he should go on meds, he said, “I wouldn’t put that poison shit in my body. You should see the AIDS patients I care for — all of the ones who get sick and die the fastest are the ones on ARVs.”
“Oh no,” I insisted, “The new drugs are great! Why, my CD4 count is over 1700 and my doctor says that at this rate I probably won’t ever get a common cold, much less will I ever get AIDS.”
Little did I know at the time that six months later I would have liver damage, and in 18 months I would nearly die of AIDS-related pneumonia after only 2 years of being given standard treatment for “HIV infection.” (And HIV supposedly takes, what, 20 years to kill you?)
If it’s OK for AIDSTruth to maintain a listing of your friends and mine on their website, under the heading “dead denialists”, then there’s nothing wrong with you and me telling the public about all of our friends who died while taking ARVs.
You keep doing EXACTLY what you’re doing, Jonathan. You’re fighting the good fight.

Thanks Gos.
I may as well include the link to that site too. I don’t understand why JTD is so afraid to link to my blog, especially since he is obviously so fond of reading it. Here’s the list of “AIDS denialists who have died“, sponsored by “aidstruth”. This is why I felt the need to make my own list.
I’m convinced that reading some of these anti-denialist sites is one of the best ways to get people to question AIDS.
thank you jonathan. there is nothing disrespectful about the photo. the truth hurts. and de shong’s reaction only shows that it hurts him most. and that is how it should be. this terror nightmare must stop. please keep posting your honest opinion – and photos!
You are 100% correct Jonathan,
Meth, STD, Poodlefucker et. al. are denialist factories and the “war” on denialism is a self-sustaining industry and it works like this:
-Create a problem that never was one: dissidence (as old as the world)
-Make outrageous claims that cause people to wonder “WTF???”
-Denounce the WTF?uckers as evil genocidal sociopaths.
-Then beg for ever more funding to study the “phenomena”
…and round we go in circles.
It reminds me of one of the world’s foremost authorities on warmongering:
“Why of course the people don’t want war. Why should some poor slob on
a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of
it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people
don’t want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in
Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the
country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to
drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist
dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no
voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked,
and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the
country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
ps: talking about outrageous. I wonder how many denialists JTD has created with his “Jesus-killing kike” outbursts.
This issue needs to come to light. As having been on all sides of the fence, I certainly can relate. Although, after learning the truth, I do not believe that HIV causes AIDS. My own research has pointed to many different things; drugs (legal and otherwise) malnutrition, life-style issues, and one’s over-all health issues. I find that one size does not fit all in regards to the “true” cases of AIDS. Even Gallo and Mongagnier have stated that co-factors are involved with AIDS and Montagnier has stated that HIV can be eliminated without drug. So, this leads one to believe that HIV is not the true culprit!
A virus that is given very little attention is HHV6A, which has been found in 100% of AIDS persons. This virus is certainly more destructive than HIV and is implemented in a host of immune diseases. HHV6A can be sucessfully treated with the proper anti-viral, which is not the present HAART. Those who have health issues and wish to be tested for this variant, should go to the HHV6 Foundation on line. There is a laborary in Reno, Nevado that can distinguish between the “A” and “B” vairant of this viurs. Most of the population has the “B” variant. Neverthelss, the “A” vaiant has been associated with AIDS, among other chronic diseases.
don’t forget the whole candida issue that in many cases brings up signs of illness that can be classified as “AIDS” … Tony Lance’s article can be read here: http://www.fearoftheinvisible.com/gutaids
and please see Bauer’s new paper that was just published in a well-respected journal: http://www.jpands.org/vol15no1/bauer.pdf
thanks.
